Although the distillery name has not been made public, it is a pure Islay malt, not vatted, and is loved for its unique flavor. Smokehead Rum Riot is a special bottle released for duty-free shops, where standard Smokehead is finished in Caribbean rum casks. The smoky flavor of Islay is accented with sweet exotic nuances from the rum casks, giving it a unique presence.
