About Miyagikyo Distillery

Miyagikyo Distillery was established in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka Whisky. Located in the lush valley where the Hirose River and Shinkawa River meet in the west of Sendai, the distillery produces delicate and elegant malt thanks to the gentle aging environment brought about by the soft water and cool climate. In particular, the stills slowly distill at low temperatures, bringing out floral aromas and elegant flavors.
