"Amahagan World Malt Edition 5th Anniversary" is a special blended whiskey released by Nagahama Distillery in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, to commemorate the 5th anniversary of its founding. All of the raw liquors from the five core ranges (Edition No. 1 to No. 5) currently released by Nagahama Distillery are used in the blend, and the chief blender at Nagahama Distillery has exquisitely brought together the unique flavors of each. The complex and well-balanced flavor is appealing, and this is a product that highlights the high level of blending technology.

scent

The top notes are juicy orange and fresh citrus, with the gorgeousness of the red wine barrels leaving an impression. Furthermore, the Mizunara and Yamazakura barrels give off a woody scent reminiscent of forest bathing, and you can also sense the calming aroma of incense wood. The whole is supported by a faint smoky accent, allowing you to enjoy a multi-layered scent.

Taste

It has a very soft mouthfeel, with floral notes reminiscent of Japanese sweets with cherry blossoms and violets. The strong wood accents keep the balance, and the sweet and woody nuances are exquisitely intertwined. The smoky notes tighten the overall flavor while bringing out its depth.

Aftertaste

The aftertaste is slightly dry, with a delicate aroma and a smoky aftertaste that spreads gently. The woody impression remains, but the pleasant smoky feeling lasts for a long time.
