overview

"Amahagan World Blended Webinar Edition" was born from the online blending experience event "NAGAHAMA BLEND CHALLENGE" held on September 19, 2020. This special world blended whisky was created by the master blender of Nagahama Distillery based on a recipe created by participants and instructor "8th Master of Whisky" Kazunori Shizuya. It is a well-balanced blend of six types of raw spirits, centered around single malt from Nagahama Distillery, three types of Highland malt, one type of Payside malt, and long-aged grain whisky.

scent

The notes begin with a gentle aroma of fragrant top notes and brown sugar, and then develop into a complex aroma of burnt caramel and fresh fruit.

taste

It has a fruity and spicy taste, with notes of apricot and peach, as well as a hint of smooth Calvados, followed by a warm sweetness reminiscent of cotton candy.

Aftertaste

The gentle smoky aroma from the long-aged, repeatedly aged raw liquor lingers and rounds out the flavor.

Label Design

The label and outer box feature images of "Master" and "Mr. Glasses" blending whiskey at the counter at Nagahama Distillery, and "Matsu-chan" enjoying a glass of whiskey, conveying a peaceful atmosphere and the seriousness that goes into making whiskey.

About Nagahama Distillery

Nagahama Distillery, located in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, was established in 2016 within the premises of Nagahama Roman Beer, a craft beer brewery founded in 1996. Although the distillery is small in scale, it pursues the creation of unique whiskey under the spirit of "Ichijo" and "Ichibarrel", and is highly regarded in Japan. The "Amahagan" series is a brand that symbolizes the technology and innovation of Nagahama Distillery.
