Nagahama Distillery is located in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, and was established in 2016. Although it is a small-scale distillery, it aims to produce high-quality whiskey and is making a name for itself as craft whiskey. "Amahagan" is the brand name of Nagahama Distillery, and is the reverse of the local name "Nagahama".

Characteristics of Amahagan Nagahama Distillery 2016 Edition Test Batch No.10

1. scent :

   • It has a rich aroma of vanilla, toffee, citrus fruits and spices.

2. Taste :

   • It has a well-balanced blend of fruity sweetness, vanilla, caramel, citrus and oak flavors, a smooth mouthfeel and a pleasant spiciness.

3. Aftertaste :

   • It has a medium length, fruity and sweet finish with a slight spiciness.

4. Alcohol content :

   • It is bottled at around 47% alcohol by volume.

5. Aging :

   • After several years of maturation at the Nagahama Distillery, it is finished in specially selected casks, including bourbon and sherry casks.

6. Limited Edition :

   • "Test Batch No. 10" is a limited release and its rarity makes it a valuable collector's item.

Recommended way to drink

• Straight : To fully enjoy the complex flavors of Amahagan, we recommend drinking it straight up.
• On the rocks : Adding a small amount of ice opens up the aromas and mellows the flavor.
• Add a Little Water : A few drops of water will help tone down the alcohol and bring out more flavor.

Pairing

• Food : Pairs well with strong flavored dishes such as smoked meats, barbecue, rich cheeses and spicy dishes.
• Desserts : Pairs well with dark chocolate and caramel desserts.
