Overview: Starward Peated Finish is a special single malt whisky produced by Starward Distillery in Australia. Caskaged in 2017 and bottled in 2022, this whisky is 48% ABV and features a rich peaty flavor and complex aromas.

Production process: This whisky is first aged in red wine barrels for three years, then further aged in peaty Islay malt barrels for 18 months. The aging in red wine barrels gives the whisky rich fruit nuances and deep color, while the subsequent aging in peat barrels adds smoky, powerful peaty aromas and complex flavors. This two-stage aging process gives the whisky depth and balance, resulting in a sophisticated taste.

Nose: The first impression is a vibrant aroma of tropical fruits. The luscious aroma of pineapple and mango rises, gradually joined by savory notes of toasted oak. Furthermore, sweet peat aromas add depth, creating a complex and harmonious aroma overall.

Taste: When you put it in your mouth, the rich sweetness of ripe red fruits spreads. The fruity taste of raspberries and cherries is firmly intertwined with peat smoke, and you can feel the juiciness of yellow peaches. The roasted flavor of mocha is also added, giving the taste a richness. The smoky elements of the peat linger in your mouth as a long aftertaste, leaving a deep impression until the end.

Finish: The long, lingering finish has a strong smoky peat flavor, followed by a hint of spiciness and an elegant, long-lasting aftertaste.
