Kilchoman Madeira Cask 5 Year is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Kilchoman distillery on the island of Islay, Scotland. This particular expression has been aged in Madeira wine casks. The use of Madeira casks adds distinctive flavour and complexity to the whisky, resulting in the following characteristics:

• Taste : Thanks to the Madeira casks, the whisky has rich, sweet fruit flavours, which typically include notes of dried fruit, nuts and spices.
• Colour : Madeira cask ageing gives the whiskey a deep amber colour.
• Aroma : In addition to the sweet aroma of melon and tropical fruits, it is characterized by the peat aroma that is unique to Kilchoman.

Kilchoman is a relatively new distillery, having been established in 2005, and is one of the smaller distilleries on Islay, but it has been noted for its craft whisky making, which combines a (peat-smoked) style with modern techniques and is highly regarded by whisky lovers.
